Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Tecumseh 10hp, check the flow, flow problem

Question
I have a 10hp 4-stroke Tecumseh (HM-100) engine that I use to power a go kart.  The engine starts and idles fine, but only when the choke is fully engaged.  As soon as the choke is even partially disengaged, the engine dies.  I replaced the spark plug and cleaned out the carburator, but this didn't seem to help much.  Could this be a tuning problem? If so how could it be fixed?

Answer
Hi Sam,

You could try adjusting the carb's jets but it sounds like a fuel flow problem.  Check the flow from the fuel tank and then if carb adjustment doesn't help, I would reclean the carb looking for even one small hole that you might have missed.

Let me know how you make out.
