Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Ryobi 32cc 700r trimmer starting trouble, 700r, ryobi

I bought this Ryobi 32cc 700r trimmer 1-year old trimmer from a friend.  Everytime i atempt to start it it takes about 50 pulls to rev up. I push the primer valve about 5-8 times then pull the chord.  After its turned off after use its east to start up when the engine is hot. Can you please solve my problem?

Hi Brian,

I sounds like there is a problem with the primer or the carb. If you remove the air filter and look into the carb, can you see fuel being squirted in when you prime?  Try squirting fuel or starting fluid in, then trying to start.  Do you have good spark at the plugs electrode?
