Land Rover Repair: Brake bleed nipple acesss, roverparts, landies

Question
I have a 109 which need the brakes bleeding. To access the bleed nipple on the front drums I have had to remove the steering arm as there is know room to get a bleed tube on. It was even tight getting the arm off past the nipple, is this normal? (The bleed nipple is located at the bottom of the drum).

Answer
Hi Andrew,

I am not very familiar with the 109.  Wish I had one though.  Here is a few links that might be able to help you out:

http://www.winwaed.com/landy/landies.shtml  (this guy is really into series LR and military 109's)

http://www.lrtech.co.uk/  (a startup LR tech forum)

http://www.off-road.com/RoverWeb/ (an excellent resource)

http://www.roverparts.com  (Atlantic-British:  good resource in TECH section.  Will answer Q's too!)

Best of luck,
