Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Craftman Snow Blower Wont Throw, shear pins, vee belt

We have used our snow blower several times this season.  Yesterday (with 6 inches of snow on the ground) the till mechanism/bar stopped turning/throwing snow out of the shoot.  Engine runs good and starts right up but won't throw snow.  It will start to throw snow but then the till bar stops turning.  It will restart again, then stop again.

Blower is only 5 years old and is properly stored/maintained with gas/oil.

Hi Rhonda,

I would first check to see if the shear pins are sheared.  With the engine off, try to turn the augers by hand, while watching the drive axle ends.  If the augers turn but the axle doesn't, the pins are sheared.  (The axle is connected to the auger tube by the pins.)
If the impeller, (the high speed "fan" inside the chute) doesn't turn while the auger is engaged and running, then check the vee belt.
