Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Lawn mower wont accelerate., briggs and stratton, hp briggs

I have a 3.5 hp briggs and stratton engine on my mower and it won't accellerate, the carb spring doesn't pull throttle open and just runs on slow.  I think linkage spring is mis locaterd but I cannot find where it should go.  Spring is about two inches long and goes from throttle to hand cable turnstile.  do you have pic of top of carb assemble and linkage this is a ten year old mower with lowes trade name .

Fred, I cannot e-mail a picture with this web site, sorry. the spring is attached to the lever on one side and the wire link on the other which is attached to plastic arm of the air vane. You may wan to visit a Briggs dealer (with a camera) and thet may be able to help....Good luck to you..Bob
