Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): timing marks tecumseh, brian wagner, camshaft

I had to replace the crankshaft on my 5.0 hp tecumseh lawnmower, my question is the timing marks for the crank and camshaft,are the dot's suppose to line up ?

The dots or lines need to be matched up.

Some Tecumseh cams use a hole drilled in the cam for the alignment mark.

Line up an obvious mark, but make sure you follow the strokes through one complete cycle before you put on the engine bottom.
