Snowmobile Repair: 92 Ski Doo Formula 470 L/C Carburetors, slide type, unfortunate event

I had an unfortunate event (fire), and am now rebuilding my 92 MX 470 L/C. I need to find out what size the original carbs were, and will any brand of the same size, and similar design work? (shopping ebay)

  Yes, that is an unfortunate event. I had a fire awhile back with my motorcycle. Ebay is a good place to go for the carbs. The carbs on the MX 470 are Mikuni VM34 round slide type carburetors. As far as carbs that will work with the sled, I would stick to Mikuni, they are cheap and plentiful. If you don't want to have to mess with possible re-jetting, I would stay with the VM 34's, or a TM 34 carb ( flatslide ). Www.denniskirk.com has the OEM carbs, but of course they run $93.00 a piece.
