Snowmobile Repair: flooded el tigre, denniskirk, sled

Question
I have a 1980 el tigre 6000 which was running pretty good until today, my problem is when going at full throttle it started to bog down and flooded one cylinder. I changed the plugs but the one on the right side wouldn't fire. When I pulled it out it was wet, and it did the same thing to the next three I put in, I even let it sit with the plugs out for hours and it did the same thing.
Help!

Answer
Hello Stephen,

Sounds like you may have a weak coil. You could have it tested, or better yet, replace it. They don't cost much. Other than that, I think you may want to rebuild your carbs by installing a repair kit. Also, if your machine continues to have this problem, try using NGK BR9EV plugs. The OEM plugs are BR10EV's which is a fine-wire plug, so I would not recommend using any other type of plug, such as a BR9ES or similar unless it is all that is available. You can get the coil, as well as the carb kit through www.denniskirk.com . Here is the coil: http://www.denniskirk.com/jsp/product_catalog/Product.jsp?skuId=20218&store=Main...  .  Here is the carb kit:  http://www.denniskirk.com/jsp/product_catalog/Product.jsp?skuId=17186&store=Main...  .  Your local dealer probably has these parts as well.  Hope this helps you. Let me know if you have any other questions. Good luck with the sled! --Arcticatman
