Snowmobile Repair: Snoscoot, vacuum line, oil fuel

Question
I have a couple snoscoot's (89 & 90). They sat for most of last year before I got them. I am working one of them  and I changed gas, oil, fuel lines, vacuum line for the carb, cleaned the bowl. I did get it running fine, just once, I rode it a couple hundred feet then needed to choke it. Now, if it starts, it is a quick fire then nothing, like it is not get gas, has great spark. Is it likely a problem with the fuel pump itself, the 2nd  machine seems to act the same way though I have done nothing with it except try starting. It will also fire up quick, then die and you can't get it to do anymore with out starting fluid but still will not keep running. Any help would be great. Thanks, fthis is a great service, I just found it.

Answer
HI BRYAN IT SOUNDS LIKE YOUR CARBS ARE VARNISHED UP.YOU NEED TO PULL THEM APART AND CLEAN THEM THROUGH.IF THE TASK IS TOO BIG TO HANDLE TAKE IT TO YOUR LOCAL DEALER OR PULL OF THE CARBS AND TAKE THEM IN. ONCE YOU GET THEM BACK YOU SHOULD RUN SOME CARBON CLEAN THROUGH YOUR SYSTEM.NOW I'M NOT TRYING TO SELL YOU ON THE PRODUCT BUT POLARIS MAKES CARBON CLEAN THAT WORKS REALLY GOOD.IT CLEANS YOUR CARBS AND ALSO CLEANS THE CARBON OFF YOUR PISTONS.YOUR CHOICE I JUST KNOW FROM EXPERIANCE THAT THIS STUFF WORKS GOOD.LET ME KNOW IF THIS HELPS   sledhead
