How do I replace the shift indicator in my 1990 chevy truck?

I need to know what kind of Chevy Truck yo have.  Conversion vans, pickups and smaller trucks are all different.  If possible, the best way to help you would be if you could post a picture of your shift indicator (in the dash or on the column).  Then I would know exactly what kind you have and can help you.
