Steering Column Repair: Steering wheel removal on a 94 Dodge Caravan, dodge caravan, steering wheel

I am trying to check and replace the windhsheild wiper switch.  The switch is in the steering column.  I am trying to figure out if removing the steering wheel to get to it will be to difficult because of the airbag.  I was wondering what to look out for in removing the steerting wheel and the airbag.  It is not worth me doing the repair myself if I accidentally set off the airbag.  Any tips would be appreciated.

Hello Kevin,
Be sure to disconnect the battery (both leads) before working in or around the air bags. Removing the air bag is fairly simple. There should either be a couple of screws holding it from the backside, or it snaps into place. Removing the rest will increase in complexity. If anything, take pictures or sketch (document) the order of removal. It's not a hard task if you remember to not force anything. Carefully inspect the parts you remove them.
