Steering Column Repair: 99 GMC Yukon steering column short in light harness., amp fuses, delay wipers

Question
I have a 99 GMC Yukon with tilt steering, cruise and delay wipers.
When this problem first started, my headlights would go out when I clicked the lever for bright lights. I would tilt the steering wheel up and down and the lights would come on. Now the headlights will not come on at all except in daytime running mode(low beam only). Also my turn signals, taillights, hazards, backup and tag lights will not work. The taillights come on as brake lights in daytime running position but will not go off until headlight switch is turned off. I have replaced the bulbs and several fuses in the fuse box. The hazard button or turn signals seem to keep blowing the 20 amp fuses.
Please advise if you have any ideas.

 Thanks,
 Steve

Answer
Hello Steve,
Looks like you'll be needing a multifunction switch for your Yukon. What you are describing sounds like the switch came apart internally or the wires became entangled with the steering shaft or tilt. Once you have the steering wheel and lockplate off, you should be able to access the multi switch.
Hope that helps.
Have a great day!
