Subaru Repair: Spare tire use, legacy outback, outback wagon

Question
Due to a flat tire on my 1998 Legacy Outback wagon, I had to use my spare tire to get to work. I only drove about 10 miles and was traveling at less than 40 MPH, but I have done some damage to the car. The tire dealer told me that because it's an AWD vehicle, I could damage the car if all 4 tires weren't the same size. My first reaction to this is that Subaru should put a warning label on the spare tire to inform people about what to do when using the spare, so that damage was not done to the car. Unfortunately, I had to find this out the hard way. Could you please tell me what I've done to my car and how much I should expect to pay to get it fixed? Thanks.

Answer
was this spare tire the original temporary spare that came with the car, or just a tire and wheel that has a different size tire on it? If it's the original spare, then no damage should have occured using it. Buy if not, you coud have damamged the MPT clutches. What is happening now that is telling you something is wrong? write me back and let me know.
