Subaru Repair: wrx security system, wrx hatch, forester sti

I recently bought a 2001 wrx hatch. and replaced the battery at that time.  today when I put the security code in .. everything - dash lights s.code lights all went off, and now nothing happening at all. Could this be the security system. I put the correct number in. I have noticed some times I can leave the car running to open the gate it keeps going, other times it starts beeping after I get back in to drive to the garage then stalls after 3 or 4 beeps .. are these problems connected? I cannot start the car at all now.  Thank you for your time

Please send me more information on your vehicle. Engine size, auto or manual. It might also be helpful to have the VIN. Wrx was introduced in the US till 2002. It was however available in Japan before that. Example: The Forester STI is available in Japan now, but won't be here in the US till hopefully next year. I don't know if your car is the same as the 2001 Impreza that was available here in the US. I will try to do some researh and see if I can find some answers for you. I found this site.
