Subaru Repair: 1997 Legacy Outback Airbag light, legacy outback, haynes manual

I recently disconnected the airbag on the steering column. I reset the airbag rollover sensor following the procedure in the Haynes manual. After plugging the airbag back in, the airbag light in the dash is on. The light was not on before I started. Is there a reset that has to be done because the airbag was unplugged?

Its possible that the slide connector within the connector was damaged, (this was the yellow annoying piece you had to remove to unplug the air bag harness) .Best thing to do is pull the code and diagnose it.But check that connector as well!
