Subaru Repair: 95 Subaru legacy L wagon, 195000 miles, rear wheel bearings, power steering rack

Question
Hello!
In just under 14 months we had to have 2 right rear wheel bearings replaced, with the oil seals too.  After the second one, a month later, the garage said that the power steering rack (steering gear B) had to be replaced.  Should there have been two bearing replacements in 14 months, and would the steering rack have anything to do with it?  I'm not expert, but my common sense says they missed something or didn't do the job right to begin with.  Thank you so much!

Answer
Well the power steering rack and the bearings are separate issues. But having to have the same bearing done twice in a short time frame raises some questions. Its really hard to say who or what is at fault. But i will tell you that if the job is done without all of the proper steps taken the new bearing will not last very long.
