Subaru Repair: Subaru Repairs, subaru forestor, subaru repairs

Question
Hi,
Q: After changing cambelt, idlers, tensioners, waterpump oil seals on a 97 Subaru Forestor the engine seems to "mis fire" slightly between 500RPM and @2000 RPM. I can feel the "misfiring" through the car body. What has gone wrong pl? Thanks

Q: After replacing the thermostat, The top hose is HOT and bottom is cold as after few minutes of idling. Tried with old thermometer, same result. Checked old & new thermostats in hot water, both open up. Can u pl guide me? Thanks

Answer
I hope you used a Subaru t-belt ,some of the after market ones will align the cam sprockets up wrong causing the valve timing to be off.Same goes for the t-stat i hope you used an oe t-stat as none of the aftermarket ones that i have seen have the flow through valve.Next Did you perform the proper coolant fill and purge procedure? Its possible if you didn't that you may have introduced an air pocket into it.
