Subaru Repair: 94 loyale, wont turnover!, battery cables, loyale

Question
Hello,
The car has been sitting around for about a year and has 180,000 miles. The previous owner does not want to deal with it and the problems. It will be mine if I can get it running.I checked the fuelpump, lines, pressure and even a new filter. It all seems to be good. Gas is getting to the FI unit. So, I moved on to electrical. It has a new battery, plugs and cap/rotor. Nothing. So, I moved onto to the ECU to check for codes wilth the MIL light. Just so, there is no flashing code light and there is also no check engine light that comes on the dash. Am I facing a new ECU? Do I get the local mechanic to diagnotic check? What more can I trouble shoot before dumping lots of money (which I do not have)into the car? It could be something very simple I sure?
Cheers, Chris

Answer
Tough one to answer here. If the engine will not crank or turn over, then fuel and ignition are not the issue...yet. Recheck your battery, battery cables, cables to the starter, ignition switch, and even the motor itself. If the motor is locked up then we have bigger problems. Sorry, but sounds like you have your hands full. Z
