Towing Issues: Car got towed for no reason, small claims court, tow company

Hello,

It was just an ordinary day.  I went to work, and parked in my usual street parking.  Only this time my car got towed!  There were no signs, red curb, markers, etc...  I've been parking on this street for 2 years.

The tow company said they towed my car because "the sheriff said so"

I had to pay $120 in order to go home.  In other words, I PAID to work today.  That sucks!!

What can I do to get my money back?

Small claims court would be the way to go, as in many cases there are no appeals processes in place within the law enforcement agency to contest the tows.

Remember that documentation is the key here in going to court or even appealing the reasons for the tow.

Check out all the information, was a parking ticket issued.  Does it have a reason or vehicle code violation on it. Check into that if possible and see what rules it says.
