Towing Issues: towing 1970 VW bug, motorhome, wheel

We were towing our vw bug behind our motorhome and the steeting wheel was locked or it went into gear as we started off.  We stopped immeiately.  Everything seemed ok but now it will not start.  The motor turn over but will not start.  Have any idea what could be the problem?

oh it could be a bunch of reasons...  But generally even if the vehicle went into gear it should still start.  I would look at ignition system parts, such as coil or things like that.
Most likely it was on to long and might have burned out.

Or there Was a wire which went to the carb which used to fall off,,  You might check that also.
