Towing Issues: apartment tow, small claims court, storage fee

Question
my car was in my apartment less then 24 hours and it was towed. there were no notices to inform me it was going to be towed. Can they do that? Prior to it was on the street an I was informed that I needed to move it within 48 hours and did so then my apartments towed my car with out my knowing. Is there anything I can do?

Answer
pay the fees and depending on the city you are in, you might have the rights to a tow hearing...

Otherwise the chances that you might loose your car is good. The towing fee is there and there is a daily storage fee which increases each day.

Now depending on your apartment rules, you might not of had a permit, or parked in someone else's space. Now as to why it was towed I really have no idea, you would have to take it up with the management.

Now parking on the street, I am betting that your city also has a rule regarding abandoned vehicles. In most cities have rules which say vehicles parked over 72 hours on the street without moving are considered abandoned.

Now you always have the rights to take the issue to small claims court, if you think you were wronged.
