Towing Issues: Fire lane parking, private ambulance company, fire marshal

Question
There is a private ambulance company next door to our shop in California that uses the common fire lane between our two buildings as their over flow ambulance parking. I do not believe that they are dispatched from this location but merely store and service their vehicles there.
My question is: Should they be allowed to park their unused, unmanned ambulances in our fire lane all day and all night?

Answer
I would say no on the parking of the ambulances in the fire lanes, BUT remember the same fire department and police department which enforce the rules are also serviced by the ambulance service.

It seems unfair but I am not sure you can get things done that way. You might talk to the local fire marshal and see what he says, and also check with the police and see if they do anything.

Worse case is that you have to go to the City Commissioners and or the news media about the abuse.

Also check with the landlord - property owner as they can get fined or in trouble for allowing it to happen.

Good luck
