Towing Issues: Towing Hours, tow company, tow companies

Hi,
My car was recently towed from a parking lot.  It was 10pm when I realized what happened.  The tow company said they were closed and would give me my car the next day at 9am.  Are there any laws in NJ about hours of operation? Whether they should be 24 hours a day service? Thanks.

Most tow companies have an after hours gate fee (after hours vehicle release) which is usually the same amount as a day of storage. Also the wording of some laws require the availability of releasing vehicles after hours but at the soonest availability of the tow company. That being said the tow company may be busy or simply stall you until they are available.
