Towing Issues: Towed from lot didnt have permission to park in, cadillac cts, pinto wagon

Question
I live in Denton, Texas and last night I was towed from a parking lot that Friends and I have been parking in for 4 years and have never been towed from. The lot is behind a barber shop that was closed at the time. I drive a cadillac CTS and it was the only car out of just a few even parked in the lot that was towed. The towing company said I did not have permission to park there and the owner called in which I know is not true. At first they refused to let me get my car out and after a girl went and talked to them the said ok. They charger $175 and it could not have been there for more than an hour or 2. If the owner did not call in to have my car towed can they legally just pick and choose cars to tow out of a lot? If not what can I do?

Answer
"EVER BEEN FISHING?"

"EVER CATCH ALL THE FISH?"

One of my favorite statements about towing from parking lots.

Now it does sound like the tow company was fishing, if the property owner(S) did not call for them to tow the vehicle.

A Cadillac CTS would be more valuable to tow (redemption wise) than an old Toyota or pinto wagon..

Since you are in Texas, there is a state agency which now regulates towers and it has about 194848393849403 rules on the subject...

You can go to their website and start researching the issue and see what laws they broke. There are laws for charges, signs to be posted, prices to be charged, tow truck licenses, tow truck driver licenses, storage yard permits, and a host of other things...

Good luck and hope that this helps you ...
