Towing Issues: half owner of car other half not paying, tow truck driver, title and registration

state of kentucky.  a friend was down on their luck and needed a car.  i cosigned on the loan.  both names are on the loan and both names are on the registration and title.  the friend was supposed to be paying for the car but they haven't made a payment, to stop repossession and not ruin my credit, i have made the payments to keep the bank from repossession.  the title and registration is listed with AND between the our names.  i want to know what my rights are to have this car towed and get it in possession since i'm paying for it.  can you help?

Well I am not a lawyer, but I would check with one about the legalities of taking the vehicle since your name is on it...

Reason I say that is after the vehicle is repo'ed the other person can or might file a stolen report on it, or take it back... One of those kind of catch 22 deals...

Now as a tow truck driver, if I had to go pick up the vehicle, I would pay attention very closely to all the paperwork involved and make sure that I really had the rights to pick it up...   
The fine line between a repo and civil action is very narrow and gray at times..
