Towing Issues: tow bar towing, 2007 kia sorento, kia sorento

Question
I recently purchased a 2000 crown vic in oregon and am going to tow it to louisiana. I will be driving a 2007 kia sorento and hopefully using a tow bar, as this is the most economical way to get it home. Are there any issues that you know of regarding using a tow bar on a crown vic? I know to disconnect the drive shaft to keep from destroying the trasmission

Answer
Well, this question is kind of out of my area of expertise, but I want to point out something...
Yes pulling - removing the driveline will prevent damage to the transmission..

But your 2007 Kia Sorento as a "CURB WEIGHT" of 4123 pounds to 4387 (AWD) and the "CURB WEIGHT" of the 2000 Crown Vic is 3964 pounds...

I do believe (myself) that it might be pushing the limits on the Kia especially since I am familiar with the roads from Oregon to the east coast, and there are LOTS OF BIG HILLS both UP and DOWN...

I can not recommend either "TO OR NOT TO DO IT"
