Towing Issues: Towing from Public Streets, hook ups, happening city

Question
Hello, I have a question about parking on public streets.  I work for a company that has a parking lot for visitors only and a parking garage for employees.  The building my employer is located is rented space. However, some of us do not like parking in the garage because there is no room for fire trucks to enter or tow trucks.  Most of us park on the street, which I assume is a public street, however some of us have parked too close to entrances and exits to the garages.  The building manager, I assume, has contacted the county recently to put up "no parking signs" along the street.  The purpose for this was to allowed no parking within 50 yards of entrances/exits.  However, some no parking signs are well over 50 yards of the entrances/exits on a public street.

My question is, if we are ticketed or towed for parking on a public street well outside the 50 yards from the entrance/exits, will this be grounds for lawsuits or harassment.

I don't think none of us are sure if the county really came and put out those signs or if we are just being harassed about parking, even thou most of us park on a public street.

Answer
Well since I am not very good with my Crystal Ball this week, I really do not know where this is happening. City and State laws vary and without knowing what laws apply its hard to answer this.

Now as to reasons that you and others do not want to park in the garage do not make sense to me, but to each their own. Tow trucks can get into most garages, and fire departments generally have hook ups inside to take care of problems.

Now the parking close to the entrances, I do not really believe that its 50 yards which is not allowed to park.  That is 150 feet which comes out to about 4 to 5 car lengths.

I think that something might be wrong with it, and I will have to say that from the sounds of it might be a private street. There are ways to check at City Hall or where ever and see what they show on the records.

Now if you are ticketed, I can not say what you can do, only a lawyer can answer that part, I am just a tow tuck driver who does what they are told when towing. As to if you think it is harassment, well that gets into the legal system for resolution.
