Chrysler Repair: 2004 Pacifica passenger side mirror, side mirror, retaining ring

Question
The passenger side mirror was hit and now there is a thin metal ring hanging
down from the bottom. I compared it to the driver side, there looks to be a
small plate missing on the broken side that would have covered an opening
to the wiring. What I can see, on the broken side is what looks to be a
retaining ring of sorts. and a spring has dropped from its original position.
My question is, is this type of issue something I could repair, or do I need to
purchase an entire new mirror? I was thinking I would be able to re seat the
spring like item and replace the retaining ring... but I am not sure.
I can send pictures of the broken part in the morning if it will help.
Thanks!
Erin

Answer
Hi Erin,
Unfortunately I don't have the Factory Service Manual for the Pacifica line. May I suggest that you inquire of Kevin or Shopteacher as the former works at an agency and has access to these manuals and to the parts department? I suspect that going to a dealer's parts department will also be helpful as they will have an exploded view of the mirror and you can identify what parts are available individually.
