Towing Issues: Towing a Tent Trailer, trailer wiring harness, wire harnesses

We have never towed anything before.  We are considering buying a tent trailer.  What do we need to tow it with our 2000 Tundra?   (ie:  tail light wires, brakes)  And how do we hook it up?  We have a tow hitch that we use for a bike rack (2 inch)

I suggest a professional trailer dealer/installation shop to install the trailer wiring harness and brake controller in your truck. They can also inspect the hitch that you are currently using and determine if it's capable with the trailer you had in mind. There are manufactures that make plug and play wire harnesses and brake controllers for your truck but still recommend a professional to install them if you are not familiar with the hook ups. It will also help if you have any warranty issues if they should arise.
