Towing Issues: Towing without notice?, manhattan ks, other vehicles

Question
I live in Manhattan KS and my vehicle was towed out of the parking lot of my girlfriends apartment after being there for only 3 hours. It is a permit parking zone, but I took the liberty of walking around the lot and they did nothing about the other 14 cars that had no permit. They didn't give notice, there was no sticker in the window, they just came and got it. Can they really do this?

Answer
Well if the place is posted with signs and it says "permit parking" then it sounds legal to me.

I really can not find anything about sign laws for Kansas other than some for specific cities online.

But if you did not have the permit then you are subject to towing.. As to the other vehicles well they could have permits somewhere on the vehicle (sometimes they are hard to see)  and of course there is always the comment that I was told by a state trooper when asking about speeding tickets given to a person in a group of vehicles...

"Ever been fishing???"

"Ever caught ALL the fish???"

You vehicle might of been the first one they seen, or the one that was easy to tow..  Not sure as I was not there.
