Towing Issues: Towed From friends apartment in oxford MS, chevron gas station, tow truck driver

Question
Last night at midnight I was parked outside my friends apartment and I got
towed because I did not have a parking sticker and I was not in guest
parking. I came down and talked to the tow truck driver he would not let me
leave and wanted $60 cash. Then he said its $125 if he does tow me I couldn't
do anything because his flat bed was blocking me in. I found my car and
where these guys are located. They took it to a body shop parking lot at a
chevron gas station. My question is can go over there and basically steal my
car back or could that get me in a lot of trouble?

The lot where your car is being kept is not gated? If so, thats a strange way to hold a car.

You could be sued by the tow company, but you own the car, so unless MS laws are different, A theft of services is what you would be risking.

You should have paid the $60 "drop fee", because you were not authorized to park on the property at that time. And really $125 is about half of most PPI(private property impound) charges
