Towing Issues: Can I have my car towed, tow company, civil matter

Question
QUESTION: I let someone borrow my car, and now they won't pay the car note for the car or return it to me (owner) when I ask for my car back.  My question to you is can I have my car towed without that person knowing?  What would be the procedure?

ANSWER: sounds like more of a civil matter which the local police might help with as a standby...

Kind of like a repo but not... It would depend on the paperwork which each party has and who has legal ownership (not just the keys) of the vehicle...

You would have to check with a local tow company (you did not mention where this is, so I do not have the laws for that area available) and see what they say... Be honest do not just say its broke down and get into a big battle that way when they are there... Tow truck drivers have been shot or killed doing "hidden repos" and as a rule as soon as they discover it they back out or get real expensive fast...

QUESTION: I have true ownership of the vehicle in the state of Maryland (Howard County), titled and registered in my name only.

Answer
like I said, you can call a tow company and see what they  suggest or will do... I think it could work, as long as its easy and not ugly... But they do go bad very fast at times.

If you have a key still, is it possible that  you can just drive it off ???

Also make sure you have a place to keep it where they can not go and get it.
