Towing Issues: NYC Towing in a No Parking zone, zone signs, parking zone

Question
My car was parked in a No Parking am-PM Mon-Fri zone in on Park Ave. in  Brooklyn. The car was ticketed and towed. There were no "Tow A Way zone" signs present.Did the city have a right to tow?

Answer
How did you know it was a "No Parking Zone" to start with or is that what you have determined after it was towed...  Certain places in NYC (I have not been there for more than a drive though since 2005, but lived there for while in 1976) are no parking areas and yes at times signs are not on every post or every 10 feet... Some times they are posted at the beginning of the block and they might even be a new traffic control section which either just was placed or its one which is ending... Add in the fact that at times  signs do get stolen, vandalized or just fall down...

New York City has a web site about parking enforcement and it has lots of information on it and it includes sections on how to dispute the tickets and towing...
I know that its best for you to look for information on it as  you know all the details and I would be guessing on some things here...

Its Thursday here, are blue cars allowed to park on the north side of Times Square at 3:15 pm  (joking here)
