Towing Issues: Stolen Vehicle, tow company, incorrect address

I had my vehicle stolen and I completed a police report.  The vehicle was apparently recovered a year later.  I was not notified by the police and the towing company mailed notification to an incorrect address.  I have now discovered the vehicle was sold AND in spite of being listed as stolen, was registered here in WA State.

It sounds like the police and or the DMV system failed in the process of checking the "status of the vehicle" or it was not correctly entered into NCIC (which tracks and notifies of stolen vehicles)


What to do, well the tow company  mailed the notices to what ever address that DMV supplied them unless it was just a mistake in writing the address on the envelopes...


What to do, well I can not really say as it could be a legal issue for you which you are handling right now. Or it could not be a problem. I do not know.
