Towing Issues: Towing Laws, gooseneck trailer, hot shot business

Question
Yes I was wondering what is regalation for dually size trucks on the interstate pulling a gooseneck (with equipment, bobcat) having to pull into weight scales. Also I'm in the process of buying a gooseneck trailer and wanted to know if a trailer must have a weighted tag limiting what you can carry.

Answer
well if you are moving equipment as a business and as such have a name on the door of the truck then you will need U.S. DOT numbers and all that...

If you are in the "hot shot" business you also need the DOT numbers and as such are a commercial business..

Now if it is your own personal equipment and as such your truck is licensed for the weight being pulled then it depends on your state laws...

BUT BEST ADVISE here is if you are going down the road and encounter a open weight station then you should go in and at the worst you will get checked. But you most likely will waved though...
BUT I can not really answer this question as there are several variables here which determine what will happen.
