Towing Issues: Accident while towing, screw holes, tow yard

My car was towed from my apartment because the temporary parking pass was expired by 1 day.  I went to pick up the vehicle from the tow yard and noticed it the front bumper was damaged during the tow and the the back bumper was hit by another car, it is obvious by the screw holes and license plate damage.  Can I file a police report?  Technically it is an accident because 1 car hit another.  Please help.

Sure you can file an accident report, but remember that your insurance company also reviews your driving record and as such that will show up... And we all know that insurance companies LOOK FOR REASONS to up your rates.

Best answer is to discuss it with the tow company and see if they are going to repair it, but sometimes that does not work out like you would want it to.

Discussing this with your insurance agent might be good idea but it can also lead to a mark on your record... And sometimes damages are not enough to be covered by your deductible, leading you to pay for the damages anyway.

When you were at the tow company did you point out the damages to them?  After you leave it becomes harder to prove that the damage was done by them during the tow.
