Towing Issues: Towing 2007 Ford Expedition, 4x4 ford, dingy towing

Question
I live near Pittsburgh PA and I have a 40' RV. I would like to use it to tow a 2007 4x4 Ford Expedition using a tow dolly under the front wheels. Will that damage the Expedition? If so, what can be done to safely tow such a vehicle?

Answer
While RV towing issues are not my area of expertise, I would have to point you towards this site...

http://www.motorhomemagazine.com

Look at the dingy towing section as it covers what vehicles can be towed and what to do...

But from my point of view on the vehicle you will be having problems as it is a rear wheel drive vehicle most of the time and as such the transmission would be turning if you loaded it with front wheels up.. That equals great chances for damage to the transmission...

Best way would be using a full size trailer to do this or follow the suggestions on the link about towing.. You might have to have some specialized parts attached to the vehicle to disconnect the transmission...

Good luck and good reading .
