Towing Issues: 5th wheel towing, 2008 f 150, gcwr

Question
i have ford 150 xlt with a 5.4. truck has a short bed.what would i need to do to pull 10,000 lbs

Answer
well the smart answer would be for you to go to the Ford website, and enter all the information you can about "YOUR VEHICLE" like year, 2 or 4 wheel drive, axle ratio, auto or manual transmission and such and then you will get more answers..

But in a quick check shows that the GCWR or GVWR are not close enough to do what you do...  I seen some towing capacities averaging 6000 to 7000 pounds.. Remember that the total gross combination weight rating (GCWR) is the truck, trailer or cargo all combined.

FYI, it just amazes me that people expect me to provide SPECIFIC ANSWERS when I do not have all the information available.. Look at the differences in the ratings as each axle rating changes the numbers...

But I guess that I am not "KNOWLEDGEABLE ENOUGH" to be a mind reader and know that your truck as specific equipment.
Is it possible that red trucks can carry more weight then a blue or white truck ???

Kind of expecting answers like that is what alot of people expect..

Thanks for the nice feedback...

PS   My area of "EXPERTISE" is the commerical towing industry where you break down, get stuck, have accidents, not towing RV'S... It even says that in my profile comments..
