Towing Issues: Towing a 00 grand cherokee behind a uhaul, jeep grand cherokee, jeep dealer

Question
Please help asap!!!  I am moving from fl to IN and i need to tow my 2000 jeep grand cherokee limited, 4WD behing the uhaul that I am renting.  They tell me in order to do this i must remove the driveshaft, I dont know how, or have, or can afford to have anyone to do this for me, and I wanted to know if there is ANY other way, without spending alot of money, to do this, OTHER than towing it on a platform with all 4 wheels off the ground, to rent that from uhaul is alot more money than I can spend.  Please help, I am supposed to be leaving in a week from now and I do not know what to do.

Answer
Some Jeeps can be towed if they have a neutral range in the transfer case.

here is a site with some help, click on the 2002 towing guide and you will see that the 2002 Grand Cherokee is listed, so yours is probably the same, but you should check with your owners manual or a Jeep dealer to be sure.  maybe subscribe to the magazine at the link and contact them.

But is sounds like you can  flat tow it with no problem IF yours is the same as a 2002 version.
