Towing Issues: towing, dodge 3500 diesel, clutch action

Question
im thing about buying a dodge 3500 diesel to tow a three car trailer  for my car hauling business what transmission should i get manual or automatic

Answer
The newer Heavy Duty Dodge manual transmission is quite up to the task.  used to be on older models that the automatic was the only way to go.

The manual should save you some bucks at the diesel pump, (maybe 1-2 mpg) they still are more efficient.  But some people just don't want to mess with rolling downhill at uphill lights or the clutch action in heavy traffic.

I would say if most miles are interstate and you rarely get into heavy stop/go traffic, get the manual.

But something else says if you have to ask the question, then  you probably aren't all that familiar with manual tranny vehicles (not much of the US population IS familiar or can even drive them) and it probably would be best to just stay with Dodge's excellent automatics.
