Towing Issues: can van tow galant, hyundai entourage, tow dolly

I'm renting a hyundai entourage (or similar)3.8L 240 hpr. to tow on a tow dolly a 96 mits. galant (3344lbs ) is that possible?

The Edmunds.com web site lists the towing capacity of the Entourage as just 1000 pounds. so no it would not be able to tow any regular vehicle, just very small trailers.

I also think it might be against the rental contract to tow something with a rental vehicle.  Adding the hitch alone would be a violation.   something to think about.

Since the vehicle you are thinking about is a new one, just call the Hyundai dealer in your area and ask about towing capacity, but the Edmunds site is usually pretty good.
