Towing Issues: Electric brakes on Ford F250, electric brake controller, electric brakes

Question
We have a 33' travel trailer with a slideout.  We are looking at a Ford F250 truck to tow the trailer.  How do we hook up or wire the electronic brake controller into the truck?  We cannot find the wires for this.  We have an old 454 Suburban and have wired it for the trailer brakes, so we are familiar with how they are hooked up.

Answer
If it is a new truck, you can just buy an adapter harness that will plug in under the dash.  Just be sure to order the tow package.

If it is an older truck, if it has the tow package, depending on the year, you may still be able to order a harness from Ford.

If it isn't available, then any Electric brake controller I have ever bought comes with full instructions.  You will need to splice into a few wires under the dash, but it isn't all that hard.

here is a site that may shed some light:

Here is another site with great diagrams, scroll down about 2/3 of the way to the Ford Brake Controller section.
