Towing Issues: Towing when I am near the vehicle, legal space, tow trucks

Question
Falls Church, VA. I am in a high tow area (predatory towing IMHO) and am curious to know the following:  If I am near my car when it is being hoisted, can I simply jump in the door of my car (as it seems to me that if any person is in the car they cannot tow you).  And to follow up, if I come out as they are starting the process, should I do so?

Answer
well, as much as I hate to say it but what you are describing is very dangerous.. There have been people hurt and even killed trying to prevent towing of their vehicles by attempting to get in the vehicle while its moving..

Best thing is to try and get the attention of the towing company and stay off to the side...
Tow Trucks now are capable of picking up a vehicle and leaving in less than 15 seconds... So you should be aware of the potential risk you are thinking of doing.

Best method is to be aware of where you are parking, make sure its in a legal space and has meet all the requirements to park there.  That way you do not put your self at risk..

I hate to sound sarcastic, but its only money and a vehicle, it's not worth getting hurt over.
