Towing Issues: Ford F150 4x4 towing, ford f150 4x4, tow dollies

Question
My husband recently bought an '89 Ford F150 4x4. There is a problem with the transmission.  We need to tow it home - approx. 75 miles from Largo, FL to Brooksville, FL.  Can you tell me the proper way to tow the truck?  Could we use a car dolly, or is it recommeded to have all 4 wheels off the ground?  I greatly appreciate any assistance given.  Thank you.

Answer
well  since its a full size ford pickup there are a few issues with using tow dollies or trailers.. Size is one and the weight of the vehicle is the second one..

But the key here is also that it has a transmission problem..

Now if you have access to a trailer to have it all the way off the ground you are in good shape. If its on a tow dolly then you can load it up and remove the driveline from what ever end you have on the ground left on the ground..
(NOTE HERE   if it has locking front hubs then you can load the vehicle backwards on the tow dolly and have the front end hubs in the UNLOCK position )..
