Towing Issues: Towing a 5-speed Mazda Miata, 2006 nissan xterra, mazda miata

I'd like to tow my 2002 5-speed Mazda Miata with my 2006 Nissan Xterra from Wichita, KS to Sunnyvale, CA.  Could you please recommend the best way to do this.  I've been told that if I tow it with a tow dolly I would need to disconnect the drive shaft.  I've also been told that I could tow it backwards and not have to worry about disconnecting the drive shaft.  Thanks!

best way would be with the vehicle on a tow dolly loaded backwards. But be careful as the tow vehicle you are using will be close to max capacity with this move... I know its real late, but U Haul has a great web site and you can check out and see if you can tow such a vehicle with what you have...
