Towing Issues: towing blazer with cherokee, chevy blazer, size tires

Question
i have a 99 cherokee, 4.0, auto trans......i need to tow a 73 chevy blazer "rock crawler" full size, it will be towed 40 miles "all flat"road.on a trailer.is this poss.?

Answer
well,  based a few simple thoughts, I would say yeah it can be hauled short distances.

I hope you have a good sturdy class 3 hitch assembly or higher on the Jeep. It would then be a numbers game on weights.

The Jeep weights about 3300 pounds and has a tow rating of around 5000 pounds on the average for various different things.

Now the Blazer is the wild card. First of all you have to figure in the weight of the trailer,  then you have to figure out what the Blazer weight is..
Since it has been modified (things removed, and extra things installed such as skid plates, roll bars, extra size tires, lockers, and the like) you have changed its base weight numbers. This makes answering this question even harder.

Sorry for the delay in answering but I was trying to get some basic ideas on what the Blazer could weigh..
