Towing Issues: dolly towing a Wrangler, rear driveshaft, tow dolly

Question
Thank you for your answer Mr. Peterson.  Hopefully I'm not being a pest here but...there's always a but...in my search for a Wangler (or any other Toad) how will I know if it is towable via dolly?  The "world recognized" towing experts out there in California sort of give you the impression that nothing can be dolly towed...as obviously they are looking to sell driveshafts or equip for flat towing.  Any good way to tell if a vehicle, especially a Wrangler, is dolly towable short of the agonizing process of contacting the manufacturer?  I would truly appreciate any Toad vehicle suggestions.
Thanks again.

-----Question-----
I'm sniffing around for a used Wrangler to tow behind a Motorhome.  I read with interest your comments to others concerning the same vehicle.  Alas, I'm confused...
On 10/3/06 you answered a question regarding an '04 Wrangler w/auto trans, etc. and said "I would advise AGAINST a tow dolly as you may then need to remove the rear driveshaft to avoid transfer case damage"...yet on 11/28/06 you told "Bob" to go ahead and dolly town with the transfer in neutral and transmission in park.  There was no mention of possible transfer case damage.  So, is the reason the year, model or what?  I'm looking around for a used Wrangler, year does not matter, what would be a good year to concentrate on?  Thanks for your answer.

-----Answer-----
You are absolutely right. A Wrangler can be dolly towed as well as flat towed.

-- Note that I did say 'may need to' and also said that I didn't have the spec sheet close at hand.

I have added to the answer to clarify.

Thank you for pointing this out.

Sincerely,

Answer
Blaine,

No problem at all.  If the car is front wheel drive, it can be dollied.  If it is 4 wheel drive, can be flat towed and has manual front locking hubs, it can be dollied.  If it is rear wheel drive and can be flat towed, it can be dollied.

Otherwise, it's the agonizing process of finding someone willing to put the vehicle's towability into writing.

Best of luck,
