Towing Issues: Towing 1996 jeep cherokee 4 wheel drive, jeep cherokee, rv dealership

Question
I have a 1996 jeep Cherokee.  If the transfer case is in neutral can this be flat towed behind my motor home with out doing harm to the drivetrain Thanks Scott

Answer
Well, I have looked for answers to this type of question before and have not came up with a solid yes or no answer.  I am going to suggest that you check with the local rv dealership for transmission disconnect systems which are used on many vehicles being towed behind motorhomes.

I know they are out there, and that they work, but in the general retail towing business, any drive wheels (jeep is 4 wheel drive) the answer is all wheels need to be off the ground to prevent damage to the transmission.

Sorry that I can not provide a definate answer on this question.
