Towing Issues: Towing with a 350z, nissan 350z roadster, 2005 nissan 350z

Question
Hello:
I would like to do a one time tow across the US.  I have a 2005
Nissan 350z Roadster Convertible with cosmetic damage
including the rear bumper cover.  I would like to remove the rear
bumper cover myself (and possibly the whole bumper) and
mount a tow hitch (may need to use a welding shop to fabricate
something).  I then want to use the 350z (3.5 Liter, V6,287HP) to
pull a tow dolly with my other car (weighs 3400lbs.).  The other
car is an 06 Acura TL that has the front left wheel turned in
slightly from an accident-hence the need for the tow dolly which
I already own and have near where the cars are.
The 350z has a tiptronic automatic 5 speed transmission that
can be shifted manually.
If the tow hitch I install can handle the weight and it is
installed properly will it be feasible for the 350z Roadster to tow
the car from New York to Los Angeles as a one time trip?
(Baught both cars in PA and want to get them to LA)  I fly for free
and will be visiting friends in New York anyway.  So if I can make
this work it will be much better financially than having both cars
shipped back to my home in LA.
Thanks,
Chris

Answer
Chris,

How do I put this without being rude?

No.  Do not even think twice about attempting this.  I will call the police myself.  What's your address?  I'm going to have somebody come down there and slap you around.

Alright, I'm better now, sorry about that.

This would be both illegal in most every state as well as completly unsafe.  The 350Z would be toast by the time you got to the NY border.  The tiptronic is not a true manual transmission and would burn up before long.  It's true the 350Z may have 287HP, but it has next to no torque in the low end.  You would have to run the car at 4000rpm the whole way (burning up the clutches in the transmission) and even then I'm not sure it would move the +7,000lbs.  Now picture trying to stop this whole thing.  Brakes on the tow dolly or not, the 350Z is designed to stop itself, not a trailer let alone a 4000lb load pushing it around.

Short story long, No.  Do not attempt.  That goes for every one else out there!

No! bad dog! No!,
