Toyota Repair: Brake squeaking noise, 2002 lexus es300, lexus es300

Question
Hello. I have a 2002 Lexus ES300 (same mechanicals as v6 Camry). I have two issues which seem minor to me. First, after braking and coming to a complete stop, I hear a occasional squeaking noise that seems to come from the brakes. This happens after I brake, when I accelerate from a stop. Second, since I bought the car I noticed what seems to be a small miss or loping in engine. I have taken it to the local Toyota dealership and they state that the car is operating within manufacturer's specifications with no problem. Any advice that you may provide would be much appreciated.

Answer
Hello, a minor squeak noise from the brakes may be due to aftermarket brake pads or missing anti squeal shims on the pads, a misfire usually turns the check engine light on so when the dealer sees no check engine light or don't get any diagnostic trouble codes they conclude that there is not a problem, at least not serious enough to trigger a trouble code in the computer, if it has more than 90,000 miles on it replacing the spark plugs may help clear it up.
